This is my entry for the 
contest for taking a Disney line art and colouring it in.
Contest 34 - Coloring Book Challenge - 6 days left
As you can see, I've chosen a picture of Belle and the Beast just after an argument. I've also tried to use all the colours of the rainbow, let's hope the judges agrees, heh. I've used paint because I don't have a better art system on my laptop but I can honestly say, this took a lot longer than it looks. I'm really proud of it and I hope Belle's skin colour looks okay, that's definitely the hardest colour to chose whenever you try to colour in something. The beast doesn't have a green cloak clip in the film but I needed to sneak green in there somehow, lol.

As a little sidenote, this picture illustrates one of the reasons why Beauty and the Beast is my all time favourite Disney film. Their interactions with each other are just so real and believable, especially their argument. In more recent films, the bickering people our hero and heroine can feel a little put upon, its like they're desperately trying to convince us they are not going to fall in love. Whereas we can understand why these two are shouting at one another. Belle has been imprisoned for life, forced to give up all her dreams and never to see her father again and is not at all impressed with her jailer. The beast on the other hand is NOT used to having anyone talk back to him, far less shout. And Belle is quick witted enough to have a comeback for everything he says.
This is a turning point for their relationship, because he saved her, Belle now feels compassion for him whereas before it was only dislike. The beast feels exasperated, confused and annoyed because he's not used to being ordered around. And then Belle suddenly breaks the tension by offering a sincere thank you for what beast did (he really must have run fast to catch up) and this surprises beast enough that he sincerely accepts the thank you. And from then one, Belle is not as scared of him as before or dislikes him while the beast now wants to make Belle happy, not just force her to be with him. Just one more thing that makes it a great movie but I don't want to turn this into a massive review of it, heh.

I can feel the tension between these two in this painting! Creative way to incorporate all the colours of the rainbow. Good work!
